INT. JOSH'S ROOM - JOSH'S APARTMENT - MORNING A SEALED ENVELOPE tacked onto the wall beside a calendar. The envelope says "To Josh From Michelle". Over the room, STAR WARS ACTION FIGURES and other NERDY NIK-NAKS around the room. Pass by some FRAMED PICTURES, each one is of JOSH and MICHELLE. Josh getting the last of his clothes on. He turns and looks at one of the pictures for a few seconds, he smiles and then walks out the door.

INT. CLASSROOM - AMPERSAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE - DAY Josh sitting at the back of the class, he's on his laptop watching movie trailers, beside his laptop is a notebook covered in pristine notes. HANNAH sits down next to him, he doesn't look up. Hannah peaks over Josh's shoulder at what he's watching. HANNAH Oh, is this the newest trailer? JOSH (Fixated on laptop) Yeah, it looks just so damn good. Josh watches for a couple more seconds, he slowly turns to see who is watching from over his shoulder. He sees Hannah, she's absolutely gorgeous. He looks embarrassed, turns back, and shuts his laptop. HANNAH Everything okay? JOSH Yeah... Josh stares down at his feet awkwardly and remains silent. Hannah finishes looking at Josh and looks toward the front of class while kicking her feet back and forth as the two just sit there, the professor still isn't there. Josh continues to look down at his feet. HANNAH Oh my God, is your shirt from Ghosted Away? Josh turns and sees that Hannah is staring at him intensely.

2. JOSH Y-yeah, it's my favorite movie. Hannah's eyes spark to life, like she had just solved a puzzle, she smiles. Hannah and Josh have an enthusiastic conversation, both of them smiling the whole time. After several minutes the professor shows up, class begins, and the two students quiet down. 3

INT. CLASSROOM - AMPERSAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE - ONE HOUR LATER The professor dismisses the class. Josh packs his laptop into his backpack and stands up. Hannah standing up too. HANNAH Hey Josh, you wanna come over and study for the midterm together? I'll order us pizza! JOSH Eh, I'm sorry but I have plans tonight. Josh looks at his time on his phone anxiously. HANNAH That's okay! Could I get your number real quick though? I really think I'm gonna need help with this midterm. Josh nods and jots down his number for her, she smiles and waves as she walks away. Josh looks anxious as he speedily walks out of the classroom.

INT. JOSH'S ROOM - JOSH'S APARTMENT - EVENING Josh sits at his desk, he's scrolling through pictures of Hannah on some social media site. He then looks over at the pictures of him and Michelle and grows a look of melancholy. He looks up from the pictures and slightly jumps when he sees Michelle standing in the room by the door. She grins at Josh and then walks to the bed and collapses, then she turns her head toward him.

3. MICHELLE Sooooo have you thought of anything fun to do tonight? JOSH Actually, someone in my class today recommended a movie, so I thought we couMICHELLE (Teasing) *Exaggerated Sigh* Another movie? That's all we ever do! God you're boring! Josh and Michelle share a quick smile, Michelle looks past Josh and points at the computer. MICHELLE Who's that? Josh turns and looks at the computer proudly displaying pictures of Hannah on it. His eyes go wide, but he calmly closes out of the tab while starting to respond. JOSH Just someone from my class, I'm helping her study for our midterm. MICHELLE Oh, well that's nice of you...So what are we watching? 5

INT. JOSH'S ROOM - JOSH'S APARTMENT - 2 HOURS LATER - NIGHT Josh and Michelle sit on the couch watching a movie, they're eating popcorn. After about 10 seconds Josh's phone vibrates. It's a text from Hannah. He stops paying attention to the movie and texts back. As he continues to text, Michelle gets visibly more irritated with every passing moment. MICHELLE Who are you texting?!? JOSH (Focused intensely on phone)

4. It's just the girl I'm helping study. Josh continues to text without looking up. Michelle stands up. MICHELLE Okay, well I guess we can just finish the movie another night. Josh finally looks up from his phone. JOSH I'm sorMichelle still looks irritated and doesn't look at him as she cuts him off. MICHELLE You help your super model classmate, we'll finish the movie later. Michelle walks toward the door quickly. JOSH Hey! Josh only gets off the one word before she's gone. He has a worried expression on his face, he had definitely upset her. Josh lying awake in bed, he turns and looks at the clock, it says 3:27. He looks at the pictures of him and Michelle again, he tears up, then he turns over to go to sleep. 6

INT. JOSH'S ROOM - JOSH'S APARTMENT - MORNING Josh wakes up to see Michelle standing over him. He gets out of bed as fast as possible and hugs her. JOSH I'm sorry, I was a jerk last night, I'd never let anything come between us. Michelle hugs him back and remains silent.

5. pulls out his phone, looks down at it, and smiles. It's a text from Hannah. Josh sits in the back still texting away, his professor is out of focus in the background giving their lecture, Josh pays no attention at all. CUT TO: 8

INT. JOSH'S ROOM - JOSH'S APARTMENT - AFTERNOON Josh enters through the door, his eyes are still glued to his phone. Without looking, he walks directly to his computer chair and sits, not even noticing Michelle sitting on the bed looking at him. She stands, walks up behind him, and looks over his shoulder. MICHELLE Who ya texting? Josh almost jumps right out of his skin, he shoots up out of his chair and drops his phone on the floor and grasps his chest. JOSH (Gasping for air) Don't sneak up on me like that. Michelle stands above Josh's phone looking down at it curiously to see who he's texting.

6. didn't notice this time. Upon hearing that Josh grows a sad expression on his face, he looks down at his feet, he looks full of guilt. MICHELLE Is this that same super model girl from yesterday? Josh looks too scared to respond, but he musters up the courage. JOSH Ummm y-yeah, she was wanting to see if I could help her study tonight. MICHELLE (Meekly) Weren't we gonna finish that movie tonight? JOSH Well we can just finish it tomorrow. Michelle looks down at her feet, she sniffles a little bit, it seems like she's about to start crying. Josh reaches out his hand to console her and puts it on her shoulder. JOSH Hey, I'll be back in a couple hours, maybe even sooner. MICHELLE *Sniffle* it's okay, I'll be here when you get back, just like always... Josh looks slightly irritated, as if this sort of guilt trip might be a common occurrence. JOSH I'll be back soon, I promise. Michelle looks up at Josh, she's tearing up, she looks back down and sniffles again. JOSH How can you guilt trip me? MICHELLE I'm not, you're just the one that is leaving.

7. Josh lets go of Michelle. He looks up at the letter tacked to the calendar. JOSH So... You're the one who left in the first place. Josh walks out of the room. 11

INT. LIVING ROOM - HANNAH'S APARTMENT - EVENING Josh and Hannah are sitting on the couch. She talks to him but he seems absorbed in thought. She points at something in a textbook and looks to him. HANNAH So when it says this what does it mean exactly? Josh just stares off into the distance, he doesn't respond. Hannah coughs to get his attention, he snaps out of his trance like state. JOSH I-I'm sorry! What was the question? HANNAH Are you feeling okay? JOSH I'm sorry, I'm just really sidetracked right now. HANNAH You need to stop apologizing all the time, it's fine. Josh looks down at his phone to check the time. JOSH Actually, I really need to go. HANNAH Oh, okay... Josh stands up quickly, gathers all his things, and waves to Hannah as he walks out the door.

8. she looks upset. Josh turns and looks at the letter tacked on the wall. MICHELLE Josh, please don't.. Josh walks to the letter and pulls it off. MICHELLE Please, if you read that I'll be gone. Josh doesn't look at her. He walks to the bed and sits down beside her as she looks at him with tears in her eyes. JOSH I know. He opens the letter, unfolds it, and reads it. After the letter is read he puts his head in his hands. Josh is sitting alone in the room. 13

INT. HALLWAY - AMPERSAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE - DAY Josh walks toward his class, a voice calls out his name from behind. MICHELLE Josh!! Josh turns around to see Michelle, she smiles at him while giving him an approving nod. Josh turns to look into the classroom. Hannah is seated in the back. She sees Josh and then smiles and waves. Josh turns back to look down the hallway, Michelle is gone. He gives a little grin, then he turns and enters the classroom.
