When we first were asked what we wanted our topics to be for out graduation project, I automatically knew what I wanted to research about: minimum wage. MY family always seemed like there were issues when it came to money and i wanted to understand why. There are many reasons as to why the minimum wage should be raised. I, however, chose the top three: The U.S. needs to raise minimum wage because it would lift people out of poverty, it will reduce income inequality, and it would help people get off of food stamps. I picked these because I feel like they were the most ‘popular’ as to why the minimum wage should be raised . But when it came to actually writing the research paper I made it harder than what it needed to be. I started poorly I didn’t find the paper that important so i put it off. But once i saw how much minimum wage affects my daily living i focused on nothing but the paper. And now that I have a job I can relate more to my topic. Being able to supply myself and not having to wait on others for my needs does help but due to minimum wage I can’t always get the necessities. In my research paper, I feel like I could’ve stressed that importance more. I was more focused on the facts and statistics that it just was that: a research paper. But I mean that’s what it was supposed to be, and I am still very proud of it. It has facts, stats, and questions about raising minimum wage. Overall, I do not regret sticking to this topic because I feel that I grew as a person throughout writing it and got more of an understanding of minimum age.
