Pra y for their faithfulness, spiritual growth, and teaching ability • Pray for the Dao as they continue to grow in truth • Pray for Phillips as they are in the states on furlough, and preparing to head to Greece for 6 months to learn Greek

Don’t Close the Door This is our buddy Yusupi (Daapooi.) A few weeks ago, he built a house in the same hamlet as us. He said “I want to build up here so I can listen to all of the Creator’s talk, and won’t miss any of it.” Yusupi is also one of the men who teaches the Bible lessons every Sunday. When the Dao build a house, they always Yusup building his new house cover over the doors at night in order to keep spirits from entering, even if there is no roof yet. One night, during the building process, we Yusup’s wife, Otopina, sitting in front of the went down to look at the house. It was a suralmost finished house prise to see that the door was open. I then

went to the hut where he was staying and asked him about the door. He replied, “I’m not afraid of the spirits, God is with me. I know He is strong, so I didn’t close in the door.” We praise the Lord for His continued work in Yusupi’s life, and for Yusupi’s outward testimony of faith. He is the first one, to not close in the door.

Upcoming Events: Jan 1st—The New Year of 2009 begins! Jan 6th—tentative date to fly back into Dao

An Announcement to Make We’re having a baby! July 1st, 2009 is the due date. We are very thankful to the Lord for providing a little one for us.

Mailing: Mailing: PO Box 369,

We will be heading back to Canada sometime in April 2009 for a 9 month furlough, as Sarah will need a RhoGam shot at 28 weeks, due to Rh incompatibility. We are currently in town while Sarah recovers from a kidney infection, along with some other viruses going around, but hope to return to Dao in January. Despite Sarah having some health problems, the baby is doing well and continues to grow. We praise the Lord for experienced doctors and nurses here in Indonesia who have been very helpful in giving Sarah her prenatal checkups, training us to do various tests on our own out in the tribe, and giving us great advice with our first pregnancy.

Sentani, Papua,

Thank you for your prayers and support for us and the Dao people.
