Please note the days for rehearsals and lessons and help your child to have his/her instrument at school that day. *Lesson dates are subject to change if weather related school cancellations occur. *The days marked (B) are the days Mrs. Buxton is at NEH for band. Students may come in for extra help on those days

Band News!!!! Our first concert is here!!! The 5th grade band will be performing on Monday, December 7th. The students need to report to the band room by 6:30. The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. Students need to be dressed in appropriate concert attire. Girls need to wear a nice shirt with sleeves and either dress pants or a skirt. Boys need to wear a nice shirt and dress pants – no jeans. Please encourage them to play their concert songs for you or for other family members. The Middle School Band and High School Band will be performing the following week on the 14th at 7:30 p.m. I would encourage all to attend so the students can hear what they will be able to do in the coming years. Some students are still struggling getting notes learned and fingers on the correct keys. Practice time is extremely important at this stage. Twenty minutes a day, five days a week would greatly improve some of these challenges. I have given each student a set of flash cards to keep. These will be a great tool for them to use for learning note names. I would encourage any family members or friends to help your child practice with these flash cards. I am very pleased with the progress of these students and am looking forward to their first concert!! Keep encouraging them to practice and keep up the good work!!
