13th. FBE Conference in London/UK Advanced Information 1/14.03.09 With reference to the decision of the 12th. FBE Conference in Barcelona/Spain on 7-8th. Feb., the 13th. FBE Conference will be hosted by the FBE-UK in London in cooperation with the FBE Working Committee and Burmese community in UK. The formal invitation will be sent out as soon as possible, when the arrangements are confirmed. Fortunately, the 13th. FBE Conference coincides with the 64th. Birthday anniversary of our Nobel Peace laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on Friday, 19th. June 2009. The Burmese community and the friends of Burma in UK have decided to celebrate her birthday on June 19 in London, intending to include the famous ‘Thee-Lay-Thee’ Entertainment Cultural program during the celebration, and communication with the Thee-Lay-Thee has already been established. Secondly, the FBE-UK, in cooperation with the Burma Campaign UK, is planning a British Parliament Tour visit and sight-seeing program in London for the FBE delegates. This program is supposed to happen on Monday, June 22. Confirmation follows soon in next notification. The following is a tentative program in London: a) Thursday, June 18 latest: b) Friday, June 19 : c) Sat. & Sun. June 20 – 21: d) Monday, June 22 : e) Tuesday, June 23 or later:

Important: Now you all are requested to note the following important points: 1) Please contact as soon as possible the British Embassy or Visa/Immigration Department in your residing country and ask whether or not your travel document requires a UK Entry Visa. If so, please ask the requirements you need to apply for the UK Visa. According to UN Convention of 28 July 1951, there are countries to which you can travel without visa. Check you travel document conditions. Please inform us the visa requirements immediately, so that we could be able assist you in time. 2) As usual, you need to book your flight and arrange your travel by yourself according to your budget. For reasonable price, please check www.Easyjet.com, www.Ryanair.com, www.Germanwings.com, etc. 3) The FBE-UK would try and arrange accommodations for those (who are unable to pay for hotel accommodations) in Buddhist Monasteries and friends’ houses. But you have to inform us as early as possible (first come, first serve principle). Please do not forget to bring your sleeping bags. 4) The FBE-UK would assist you in finding a reasonable hotel, but you have to book by yourself according to your wallet. 5) The FBE-UK and the Burmese community in London have the pleasure to invite all the participants to lunch on both conference days. 1

6) The FBE-UK will provide you with detailed information on travelling in London, such as travelling from/to London airports, from/to London Railway stations/Euro-coach terminals, etc., so as to make your trip as comfortable as possible. We ask your understanding for being unable to provide you with the pick-up services. 7) The FBE Conference language is Burmese. 8) According to FBE Conference procedure, the number of participants from each country, except the host country, is usually restricted to 5 persons. But the FBE-UK is flexible, if some countries wish to send more than 5 persons with advance notice. 9) All FBE country coordinators are requested to kindly forward this message to all other persons, who might be interested in participating at the above Conference.
