Biography

David John Tennant (Born David John McDonald). Born on 18th April 1971. He is the youngest of 3 children to Alexander (Sandy) & Helen McDonald who passed away on 15th July 2007. He has a sister Karen & Brother Blair. David was born in West Lothian, Scotland and grew up in Ralston, Renfrewshire. He went to Ralston Primary, Paisley Grammar School & Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama. David had to change his name as it was disallowed because there was already a David McDonald on the book of Equity Union. David Brandon was his first choice but that name was also disallowed his second choice was David Tenant and his third was Chris McDonald.

He also starred with Daniel Radcliff in Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire and Johnny Depp in The Last September. David suffered a prolapsed disc in December 2008 which stopped him from performing in Hamlet until 2nd January.
