Omaha, NE (March 2, 2009) – Hal Daub, in response to Jim Suttle’s announced plan for new jobs and prosperity, applauded his competitor for calling for the re-establishment of the position of economic development director within the Mayor’s office. Daub, who helped to develop the economic development director’s position while serving as mayor, also announced the same idea on February 9, 2009 when his plan for economic development and growth was introduced. When Hal Daub announced his plan for economic development and growth it focused on realistic and achievable programs to grow the economy, create new jobs and foster opportunities for young workers to stay in Omaha. Some of Daub’s plans included four business parks located in Omaha in four quadrants; streamlining permitting and Tax Increment Financing procedures; and make Omaha cleaner and more attractive through efforts of Omaha By Design, recycling and sustainable designs for construction projects.
