Async Converter

The Technobox P/N 5158 Interface ECM provides 4 RS-232 outputs and 4 RS-232 Inputs. Uses 1488 & 1489 chips for true RS232 levels and voltage tolerance. All outputs come up in the 1, mark or idle state. Electrically this is a negative output voltage, the start bit is always a 0 or a positive voltage level.

The 5158 provides four RS232 asynchronous ports and is compatible in applications previously using the Technobox P/N 5436. The setup shown allows breakout of the 5158 asynchronous ports into individual RJ11 connectors. The ECM carrier attaches to a Technobox P/N 1866 breakout panel through a 68 pin SCSI cable.
