Research Papers and Articles The American Real Estate Society (ARES) ‘is a society of and for high-level practicing professionals and real estate professors at colleges and universities throughout the United States and the world’ Links through to the journals published by the society such as the Journal of Real Estate Research and the Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (A US Government Agency) produces a twice yearly Survey of Real Estate Trends covering residential, commercial and industrial markets. http://www.fdic.gov/bank/analytical/survey/ FT Property special reports. These are produced quite regularly and each one tends to focus on a different market e.g. the European Commercial market or the UK Residential Market etc.. Please note: The London Business School Library keeps copies of FT surveys for up to 2 years in print. For current students and staff or Alumni of the school the surveys can also be accessed via the FT Intelligence site. Housing Finance A UK journal produced by the Council of Mortgage Lenders. Articles and statistics covering a wide range of issues relating to the UK Housing market, mortgages etc.. However it also occasionally includes articles looking at the housing market in other countries – for example the Irish, Japanese and US housing markets have all been looked at. It’s Research and Publications area includes a summary report on Risk Management Research Phase II ‘Despite recent advances, the concept of ' portfolio risk management'is much less well developed in property than it is in other investment asset classes.
