The G-LOCATOR is designed for mounting in a vehicle for on-line Vehicle Tracking. The G-LOCATOR is a Global Locating Unit and provides its absolute location with an accuracy of 5-10 meters in any part of the world. G-Locator can be used in various applications such as Truck Fleet Management, Taxi Service etc. The G-LOCATOR works on two basic technologies i.e. GPS & GSM/GPRS. The G-Locator uses the GPS receiver to compute its position in terms of Latitude and Longitude. The LAT/LONG information is then sent over-the-air using the GSM / GPRS modem through the GSM network to a programmed destination number or IP , where at, the position may be plotted on a computer screen with the Geographical map having major landmarks/Roads marked in the background. The LAT/LONG information is also logged at regular intervals in a non-volatile memory. This data may be downloaded at a later stage over-the-air onto a computer for off-time analysis.

It support a SMA connector for connecting the GPS Antenna. The G-Locator also supports a FME connector for connecting the GSM Antenna. The GPS & GSM antenna are provided alongwith the unit.

The frequency of data logging and transmitting is programmable over the air.

GPS Receiver supports 16 channel All-in-View Tracking. It does simultaneous tracking of every possible satellite in view. The high sensitivity and dynamic range reception makes it possible to use this system in inhospitable areas. The GPS receiver provides NMEA standard data message.

The G-LOCATOR is packaged in a rugged enclosure and is designed to withstand the vehicle vibrations.

It supports Data call, SMS and Voice calls in GSM Mode.

Supports programmable tracking interval (distance / time).

The main controller validates the data received from the GPS receiver and logs only the valid data. The controller supports four serial ports. One for acquiring data from GPS receiver and the other for downloading of the logged data onto a computer through GSM. The data logging may be configured to be based on time or distance traveled by the vehicle. The other ports are spare and can be used to interface devices like printer, smart card reader and taxi meter etc.

A 20 characters X 2 lines LCD is also supported. This display provides the Status of GPS receiver alongwith the data received from the GPS receiver. The following information is displayed on the LCD. Date : In DDMMYY format Time : In HHMMSS (24 hours) format Latitude : In DDMM.MMMM format Longitude : In DDMM.MMMM format Velocity : In Km/hr. GPS Status: Indication of synchronization of GPS module with satellite. Current Network in which device is logged on & signal strength of network.

An alarm button is also provided on the G-Locator for emergency situations, where-in the driver has just to press the button and the emergency message will be flashed to the programmed destination numbers.

It also supports voice interface. A hands free microphone & speaker is provided. The vehicle driver can make a call and speak. Similarly, the driver can also be called up for giving necessary instructions.

The G-LOCATOR supports a RS232C port for interfacing with other devices. It also supports various inputs/outputs for sensing/ controlling other devices.
