DARK LADY PLAYERS; CUSTOMER SATISFACTION RATING SHAKESPEARE’S THREE MARYS (2009) This is an analysis of the audience feedback survey forms on the performances of Shakespeare’s Three Marys at ManhattanTheaterSource on 5 and 12 September 2009. The findings are broadly in line with the results for AYLI in 2008. 76% of the audience said they would recommend the show to a friend. The show achieved its primary objective of helping the audience to understand the allegories in the plays. 79% improved their understanding of the allegories, including 29% whose understanding was ‘significantly improved’. In terms of their attitude towards the show, 69% found the show enlightening and 61% theatrical. There was a balance between the 46% who found it entertaining and the 46% who found it scholarly. In terms of the effect the show had on them, overall 76% respondents had a positive response. The most common responses were that the production made audience members feel more imaginative 46%, more creative 38%, or better witted 30% (multiple responses possible). So in summary, roughly three quarters of the audience had a positive response in terms of their personal creativity, in the learning that they took away from the show, and in their willingness to recommend it to others.
