Arrange monthly meetings with key 2 colleges/programs

By establishing a schedule of regular face time with departments/programs/colleges ideally their admin and junior profs the barriers of "strangerhood" is broken down and relationships are started. It is more difficult to say someone that you know and have a relationship with than it is with a stranger.

Facilitate timely feedback to departments who have already participated in and provided 3 assessment information

Work with the VCAA and UHM admin to get some sort of feedback - even if its only a note of acknowledgement to the departments/programs/colleges that have been participating in assessment. By acknowledging their efforts, the AO will build good will be able to continue cultivation of these programs to build bridges with those who don't currently participate.

Email from Chancellor Hinshaw or Faculty Senate Task Force to UHM 4 listserv(s)

Use the email to highlight the AO, their efforts and growth to this point and reiteration that assessment is a necessary and beneficial task for the university - especially during this time when relevancy, growth, excellence are looked at to judge and determine program existance. Allow for AO to be strategically placed so that they are an asset to have on campus during a fiscal crisis b/c they are the ones to collect and interpret data that represents the academic acheivements of faculty, programs and colleges.

The AO is a result of Faculty Senate's proposal. Utilize task force members as advocates and representatives of AO with other faculty. Faculty Reconvene Faculty Senate Task Force participation more likely when for Assessment and utilize them in assessment efforts are faculty 5 bridge-building motivated and led.

Solution Suggestion Details/Notes Have Ka Leo run a feature story on AO - its importance and pretinence for UHM at this time and the national Generate buzz, get ppl talking, 6 landscape of assessment recognition of AO on campus Hold "townhall" meetings at various use time for info sharing, highlight programs/colleges throughout the program/college acheivements, Q&A, 7 semester inviting students and faculty mythbusting, recognition, etc. By building relationships with student orgs on campus, you have a Partner w/ various student sustaining and continuous support organizations on campus to cultivate base and may have access to student understanding and support of resources (I.e. volunteer manpower, 8 AO efforts on campus PR and marketing efforts)

Have AO pens and notepads 9 purchased Create promo/informational DVD or podcasts of AO for distribution to 10 different stakeholders

Easy, low-cost marketing materials that can be given out at every event, left after every visit and used to promote an remind ppl of AO presence on campus use these methods to disperse information about AO, its purpose, acheivements, highlighting program success stores, etc.
