CREATIVE WRITING

CREATIVE WRITING It is a form of artistic expression. It draws on the imagination to convey meaning through the use of imagery, narrative, and drama.

For the first time in the sad and enchanting history of literature, for the first time in the glorious and dreadful history of the world, the writer was welcome in the academic place. If the mind could be honored there, why not the imagination?

1. PLAY WRITING



Plays favor character and performance.



Plays are at their core, bare bones story telling.

To write screenplays is to emulate the human eye and aestheticize human emotion.

come from a foolproof structure or set of rules. □ Musicians often absorb ideas about form and style from the world they know and live in.

VOICE

An author’s unique style and way of saying things. Your voice should come across as natural, clear, and consistent,

ELEMENTS CHARACTER The people or actors (e.g. animals, inanimate objects, forces of nature) who carry out the action of the story.

POINT OF VIEW The narrator’s perspective on the characters and occurrences in the piece of writing. Who is telling the story?
