To  Whom  It  May  Concern,    

My  name  is  Lindsey  Friedrichsen,  and  I  am  a  senior  music  education  major  at  Northern  

State  University.  I  am  from  rural  Huron,  SD  where  I  live  on  my  family  farm.  In  2015,  I  graduated   from  Huron  High  School  where  I  was  very  involved  in  the  music  department,  drama   department,  and  FFA.  I  continued  this  trend  in  college  and  continue  to  be  very  involved  in  the   music  program  at  NSU.  I  am  involved  in  the  Chamber  Choir,  Concert  Choir,  Early  Music   Ensemble,  Concert  Band,  Marching  Band,  and  was  recently  a  soloist  with  the  Aberdeen   University  Civic  Symphony.  Music  education  is  very  important  to  me  which  is  why  I  decided  to   join  NAfME  and  ACDA  my  freshman  year  of  college.  I  am  grateful  for  the  experiences  I  have   gained  from  these  groups.  In  addition  to  my  involvement  in  music,  I  also  am  the  President  of   Collegians  in  Christ’s  Service  (CICS).      

I  have  had  really  great  experiences  with  both  my  elementary  and  secondary  Pre-­‐Student  

Teaching  Experiences,  as  well  as  my  Student  Teaching  Experience  at  Sioux  Valley.  I  first   discovered  that  I  wanted  to  be  a  music  teacher  when  I  was  in  the  7th  grade.  When  I  first  came   to  college,  I  was  convinced  that  I  wanted  to  become  a  high  school  choir  director.  However,   through  my  PSTE  and  Student  Teaching  experiences,  I  have  discovered  that  I  really  love  the   elementary  grade  level.  I  hope  that  you  will  agree  that  I  am  the  best  candidate  for  this  position.   Thank  you  for  considering  me  to  teach  elementary  music  at  Sioux  Valley.  I  look  forward  to   elaborating  on  how  my  specific  skills  and  abilities  will  benefit  the  Sioux  Valley  School  District.   Sincerely,     Lindsey  Friedrichsen   NSU  Music  Education  Major   [email protected]   Cell:  (605)-­‐968-­‐9947
