Core Beliefs 1. God created the universe and mankind. Genesis 1:1 ESV (1) In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:26 ESV (26) Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
God, not random chance, but God Himself created the world as we know it. Man was created in the image of God, given dominion and set above the animals and plants. Thus man is a unique and special creature deserving of the utmost protection of life. 2. Man sinned and fell from God’s grace. 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 ESV (21) For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. (22) For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. Genesis 3:6 ESV (6) So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.
God’s will was manifest in the garden of Eden before the fall of man. When man rebelled and sinned against God, the earth and mankind fell under a curse. The earth no longer operated under the will of God but under the curse, Satan’s realm and man’s will. God had given man a free will and man must choose to worship and serve God. Deuteronomy 30:19 ESV (19) I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,
3. God has a plan of redemption. John 3:16 ESV (16) "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 ESV (21) For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. (22) For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
What was lost in the garden of Eden, Jesus came to restore to mankind. Yet all that Jesus paid for must be received by faith. The curse is still operating for those not in faith in the Lord Jesus. Jesus took the dominion that Satan stole in the garden and gave it to His disciples for them to exercise in the earth. 4. God can be known. Exodus 33:11 ESV (11) Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses turned again into the camp, his assistant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent. Philippians 3:8-9 ESV (8) Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ (9) and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith—
Because of what Jesus did on the cross and His resurrection, we now have access to God. We can have a personal relationship with the God of glory! 5. He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 ESV (6) And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Romans 10:12-13 ESV (12) For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. (13) For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
God answers the prayer of the righteous. He is not a punisher of those who seek Him, but a rewarder! 6. God does not change. Numbers 23:19 ESV (19) God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? Malachi 3:6 ESV (6) "For I the LORD do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.
If God did it 2,000 yrs ago, He will do it today. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever!!
7. He is no respecter of persons. Acts 10:34-35 ESV (34) So Peter opened his mouth and said: "Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, (35) but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. Galatians 3:28 ESV (28) There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 2 Chronicles 19:7 ESV (7) Now then, let the fear of the LORD be upon you. Be careful what you do, for there is no injustice with the LORD our God, or partiality or taking bribes."
God doesn’t care if you are black, white or purple, male or female, American or European. His word works the same for everyone. 8. God is a good God. James 1:17 ESV (17) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Psalms 143:10 ESV (10) Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground! Acts 10:38 ESV (38) how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. John 10:10 ESV (10) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
God is good and does good. Satan is bad and does bad. Good comes from God, evil comes from the devil. There is no bad in heaven for God to give just as there is no good in hell for the devil to share. 9. We must pray for God’s will to be done on the earth. Matthew 6:9-10 ESV (9) Pray then like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. (10) Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
God’s will is not being done on this earth now unless you and I pray for it. Everything that happens is not God’s will. This earth is still under the curse of the fall of Adam. Those who have received Christ Jesus as Lord are given dominion and authority to stand against the curse. 10. The just shall live by faith. Hab 2:4 NKJV (4) "Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Rom 1:17 NKJV (17) For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."
Everything we as Christians do must be done by faith. We get saved by faith, we walk by faith not by sight, and we receive by faith. We cannot please God without faith (Heb 11:6).
