When it qpmes to fighting anti-Semitisn Conservative government will not compromise. As Prime Minister Stephen Harper said in a speech this year, "You don't defend human rights by speeches alone; real action is required from inside and outside of government. Canadians can count on our government to defend human rights and oppose anti-Semitism because it is the right thing to do." Jewish Canadians can be proud that our Conservative government stands firm in our pledge to oppose anti-Semitism both in Canada and abroad. Just recently, our government ied a group of nations in walking out of the United Nations when the Iranian President got up to speak. Prime Minister Harper has said that Iranian President Ahmadinejad's denial of the Holocaust and ongoing hostility towards Israelis is a matter of international disgrace. Canada is proud of our friendship with Israel, and the Canadian Jewish community can count on our Conservative government's continued support as we work to fight anti-Semitism at home and abroad.
