IMPORTANCE OF FORESTS Forests Play a Crucial role in the environmental cycle . They provide important wild life habitat . Can prevent flooding . Can help clean contaminated water through natural filtering process .

Management of forests 1. Agro forestry – It is a type of farming . In it farmers grow perennial plants in rows and space within the rows is used to cultivate cash crops like wheat ,rice, maize vegetables etc. 2. Planting trees  1. Social forestry program.  2. Urban forestry program.

4. Planting trees on large scale . 5. Using other resources of energy like biogas. 6. Preventing grazing by animals in forests.

Conservation of Wild life IUCN has created five groups for conservation of water     

Extinct On verge of extinction Endangered Rare Species about which very little is known
