Christian Nuesa Excerpt from “Christ Deity & faith John 3 16 Part 3” 2. The proofs - Jesus claimed to be equal with God strongly. But where is the proof? There has to be proofs that He is God! - Well we do. What I have here is not sorted and not complete list. But I think I ahve enough. The God of the Old Testament is all-knowing 2.1 Jesus knows things that are hidden 2.1.1 He knows what’s in the mind of people Luke 5:22 But Jesus, aware of their reasonings, answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts? (cref. Ez 11:5) 2.1.2 He knows People’s name before He met them John 1:42 He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John; you shall be called Cephas” (which is translated Peter). 2.1.3 He knows their lives Nathaniel’s Life, that he is righteous. John 1:47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and *said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!” The woman at the well, that she is adulterous John 4:17 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus *said to her, “You have correctly said, ‘I have no husband’; John 4:18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly.” 2.1.4 He knows the future Peter’s denial Luke 22:34 And He said, “I say to you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me.” Judan betrayal John 13:19 “From now on I am telling you before it comes to pass, so that when it does occur, you may believe that I am He. John 13:21 ¶ When Jesus had said this, He became troubled in spirit, and testified and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, that one of you will betray Me.” The God of the Old Testament never changes 2.2 Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow Heb. 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. The God of the OT is Holy 2.3 Jesus lived a perfect and holy life Heb. 7:26 ¶ For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens; The God of the OT has authority over all 2.4 Jesus exercised authority over the demons Mark 5:8 For He had been saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” Mark 5:9 And He was asking him, “What is your name?” And he *said to Him, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” Mark 5:10 And he began to implore Him earnestly not to send them out of the country
The God of the OT is not limited by nature 2.5 Jesus Defies Nature BY (doing the unnatural) The God of the OT healed the Israelites who were bitten if they look at the bronze snake on the cross. 2.5.1 Healing Matt. 4:24 ¶ The news about Him spread throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all who were ill, those suffering with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics; and He healed them. The God of the OT turned water into blood 2.5.2 Jesus Turned Water into wine John 2:9 When the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter *called the bridegroom, The God of the OT parted the water of the Red Sea 2.5.3 Jesus Walked on Water 1Cor. 12:3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. The God of the OT controled the animals to go into Noah’s Ark 2.5.4 Jesus Controled Fish to go into the net of the fishermans John 21:6 And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right-hand side of the boat and you will find a catch.” So they cast, and then they were not able to haul it in because of the great number of fish. The God of the OT all of sudden appeared to Abraham by the oak tree. 2.5.6 Jesus all of a sudden appeared to His disciples inside a closed room. John 20:19 ¶ So when it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and *said to them, “Peace be with you.” John 20:26 ¶ After eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus *came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.”. The God of the OT stoped the sun 2.5.6 Jesus stopped the storm Matt. 8:26 He *said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm. The God of the OT took the life of the first born son of Egypt 2.5.7 Jesus Took the life of a fig tree Matt. 21:19 Seeing a lone fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it except leaves only; and He *said to it, “No longer shall there ever be any fruit from you.” And at once the fig tree withered. The God of the OT gave life to Adam 2.5.8 Jesus raised the dead (Jesus gave life to Lazarus) John 11:43 When He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth.” (Cref. John 5:28-29) The God of the OT is everywhere present
2.6 Jesus was in more than one place at the same time when He was on earth as a man (CRef. Matt 18:20,Matt 28:20): 2.6.1 He was present with Nathaniel but physically He was somewhere else. John 1:48 Nathanael *said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 2.6.1 He was on earth and was in Heaven at the same time John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 2.6.2 After resurrection, He appeared to over 500 believers at the same time. 1Cor. 15:6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. The God of the OT Create the Heavens and Earth 2.7 Jesus CREATED food (bread and fish multiplied) to feed 5k people John 6:11 Jesus then took the loaves, and having given thanks, He distributed to those who were seated; likewise also of the fish as much as they wanted. John 6:12 When they were filled, He *said to His disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments so that nothing will be lost.” The God of the OT manifested Himself in light 2.8 Jesus appeared to Paul in blasing light (Ezekiel 1:26-28) Acts 22:6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me. Acts 22:7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? Acts 22:8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest. 1Cor. 15:8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. The God of the OT has infinite wrath 2.9 Jesus paid the infinite wrath of God. John 19:30 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. Therefore, as Paul concluded: Romans 9:5 whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen. God is inifinite and only an infinite being (Jesus Christ) can pay an infinite wrath of God. Acts 13:23 From the descendants of this man, according to promise, God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, There is no salvation in anything else but Jesus – the way the truth and the life; there is no one who can save man from the penalty of their sins but God Himself.
