Marco Mischke English II ICAP 9/23/08 Mr. Muys Romeo and Juliet Commentary This poem, “Romeo and Juliet”, by William Shakespeare describes the temptation of two peoples love. Romeo shows his affection to Juliet that they are meant to be together. This poem show that love at first sight is true in this story of love and affection. This poem shows a lot of themes, imager, rhymes and etc. For example, the temptation of Romeo and Juliet love, and the spiritual love of begin together. Romeo and Juliet show their love toward them by soft and loving speeches about each other beauty. Romeo shows his affection to Juliet a speech about kissing. For example, “My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.” This conveys how much Romeo adores Juliet. Juliet shows her feeling for Romeo by saying “for saints have hands that pilgrims’ hands touch.” This shows Juliet devotion to Romeo and how both of them want to kiss each other. Overall, Romeo and Juliet show their love toward each other and on the end the kiss. Romeo and Juliet show their spiritual love and affection for each other that they should be together. Romeo shows his affection spiritually by saying “O

then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do. They pray: grant thou, lest faith turn to despair. ” This illustrates how Rome wants to kiss Juliet by giving her an example of praying, but only with their lips. Juliet shows her love religious by telling Romeo “for saints have hands that pilgrims’ hands touch, and palm to palm is holy palmers’ kiss.” This explains how their kiss should be how pilgrims’ hands touch. Overall, the love between Romeo and Juliet shows a lot of affection with beautiful speeches about each other. In conclusion, Romeo and Juliet show their love for each other by holy speeches of each other that they should kiss. In addition, by their wonderful lovely speeches about their love and how they should be together. This demonstrates the love and devotion they have for each other affection. Romeo and Juliet speeches show how they fell in love with each other by love at first sight.
