Allocation Financial Analyst Job Description: Provides analytics to the allocation team to support the management of store level inventories. Provides training assistance to the allocation team in developing individual Microstrategy reports. Job Requirements: College degree. Four to six years of allocation and/or planning experience in a retail environment. Ability to draw conclusions from extensive data and communicate recommendations. Strong analytical and evaluative skills. System capable in spreadsheet, word processing, analytical and data warehouse tools, system savvy in the education of new tools. Excellent communication, prioritizing and problem solving skills. Ability to champion change and encourage innovation. Application Analyst - Intermediate Job Description: Under general supervision, develops and revises procedures to solve moderately complex problems. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those applications. Competent to work at most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. Responsible for ensuring standards and methodologies are followed. Job Requirements: Bachelor or Associate degree in Information Systems or Business Administration. Minimum of three to five years Programming/Analysis experience. Understanding of Big Lots technologies. Good oral and written communication skills. Good understanding of the theories and principles of systems development and the interrelationships of systems. Director, Internal Audit Job Description: Directs, leads, plans and performs day-to-day work activities for the Internal Audit function. Executes financial and operational internal audit work in-line with the audit plan and the company's risk management strategies. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting or auditing. 8-12 years related experience with at least 2 years in public accounting and prior internal auditing preferred. Knowledgeable on the best practices for Internal Audit function and how to implement those to meet the needs of the company. Proven record of ability to provide measurable value to the organization through audit or related work. Familiarity with Committee on Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) guidelines on internal controls and their implementation in the organization. Experience with development of annual audit plan using a risk based approach. Certification in at least one area (e.g., CIA, CPA, CISA, CMA, etc.) is required. Director, State & Local Income Taxes Job Description: The Director of State Income Tax is responsible for the direct management and supervision of the company's state and local income tax section including the accurate and timely corporate state income tax compliance and corporate state income tax quarterly and annual provision compliance. Also responsible for G/L state income tax accounts, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, controversy work and planning. Job Requirements: Baccalaureate degree in Accounting or Tax and at least seven years of state income tax experience required.CPA and/or law. Innovative/Creative problem solving and diagnostic skill set. Excellent business acumen with a sound understanding of the tax implications of a multi-national operations. Excellent written and oral

Participates in the development and execution of strategies to mitigate plan shortfalls and/or maximize plan overages to accomplish sales, margin dollar and inventory turn objectives. Job Requirements: Qualified candidates will possess 5+ years experience of retail planning; bachelors degree preferred; working knowledge of retail math and strong analytical skills; independent development of recommendations and accountability for managing and achieving results; confidence to present and defend a business argument both one-on-one and in a group setting; strong presentation and communication skills; strong system capability in spreadsheet, word processing, analytical and data warehouse tools, system savvy in the education of new tools. Sr. State Tax Analyst Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required; CPA, Masters in Tax and/or MBA preferred. Three to four years corporate or public tax experience preferred, with working knowledge of state and federal income tax concepts required. Strong working and conceptual knowledge of multi-state corporate income tax principles, including apportionment and allocation rules, and separate and combined reporting issues. Knowledge of corporate state income tax treatment of partnerships and LLCs. Working knowledge of FAS 109. Good written and oral communication skills and strong analytical skills required. Good organizational skills required. Good PC skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word; knowledge of CorpTax and mainframe general ledger software preferred.
