_______________________________________________________________________ DESCRIPTION Cola®Lube 3418 EPL is a soluble oil emulsifier base designed to emulsify low viscosity naphthenic and paraffinic oils in the viscosity range of 70 to 600 SUS at 100° F. Cola®Lube 3418 EPL is a balanced blend of high molecular weight sodium sulfonates with co-emulsifiers and coupling agents to provide excellent emulsification, low fastbreaking foam, and outstanding rust protection in both hard and soft water. In paraffinic oils, the addition of a minor amount (0.5% - 2.0%, by wt.) of tall oil fatty acid may be required to obtain a clear concentrate.
PERFORMANCE DATA Cast Iron Chip Test Result: 5% (by wt.) Cola®Lube 3418 EPL in (100 ppm hardness) water – No rust. Emulsion Test • 15% (by wt.) Cola®Lube 3418 EPL in naphthenic oil, diluted 1:20 in (100 ppm hardness) water: stable emulsion with no “creaming” or “oiling” after 24 hours. •
20% (by wt.) Cola®Lube 3418 EPL in paraffinic oil, diluted 1:20 in (100 ppm hardness) water: stable emulsion with no “creaming” or “oiling” after 24 hours.
