Cola®Cor 500 DESCRIPTION Cola®Cor 500 is a water soluble, synthetic corrosion inhibitor. Cola®Cor 500 is a highly effective, low cost preventative for cast iron, steel alloys. Cola®Cor 500 provides corrosion protection on ferrous surfaces in solution where the pH is approximately 8.0 or higher. Cola®Cor 500 is non-foaming and has good stability in hard water. Cola®Cor 500 is useful where temporary protection against flash rusting is needed. When water is allowed to evaporate, a thin liquid film remains that provides rust protection to ferrous surfaces, even under high humidity conditions. The Cola®Cor 500 can easily be removed by rinsing with water. It also burns off cleanly in annealing or other high temperature processing operations. Cola®Cor 500 is composed of a mixture of organic acid salts, but is not based on PTBBA, nitrites or borates. It is also diethanolamine free.

APPLICATIONS Cola®Cor 500 can be used in most water-based, alkaline metal working fluid formations. It is useful in water/glycol or other water based hydraulic fluids, hard surface cleaners and forming and drawing compounds. Cola®Cor 500 is compatible with most commonly used materials for compounding these types of products, including glycols and polyalkylene glycols, alcohols, surfactants, alkaline builders, etc. If using acidic additives, the pH must be adjusted to 7.0 or above to maintain stability and to 8.0 or above to obtain maximum anticorrosion efficiency. Application level for end use is 0.3-0.5% depending on the end use application and pH of the fluid.

STORAGE AND HANDLING Cola®Cor 500 is easily handled under ordinary commercial conditions. If temperatures are expected to drop below -1°C (30°F), heated storage facilities should be considered. The maximum recommended storage temperature is 49°C (120°F). Storage tanks 225 Colonial Drive
