Components 1. Spinal cord - thick bundle of nerve tissue that carries information about the body to the brain and from the brain to the body, and is connected with the nerves of the peripheral nervous system (PNS)

2. Brain - the most complex organ in the human body,which can be divided into 4 lobes : Temporal lobe, Occipital lobe, Parietal lobe, and Frontal lobe

functions Responsible for integrating sensory information and responding accordingly. Consists of two main components: Brain

Spinal cord -

serves as a conduit for signals between the brain and the rest of the body.

controls simple musculoskeletal reflexes without input from the brain.

Responsible for integrating most sensory information and coordinating body function, both consciously and unconsciously.

Complex functions such as thinking and feeling as well as regulation of homeostasis are attributable to different parts of the brain.

Brain Lobes functions Temporal lobe (green): processing sensory information from the ears. Occipital lobe (purple): processing visual information from the eyes. Parietal lobe (yellow): processing sensory information, interpreting visual information and processing language and mathematics. Frontal lobe (pink): controlling important cognitive skills such as emotional expression, problem solving, and memory.
