Introduction There is a statement that creativity, innovation and design thinking activities gathered as an important chain in a business system which strictly connect to the long-term survival of a company, and the success of this chain is depend on the effort of each employees. It is undeniable that these three elements has a vital role in the accomplishment of business development an organizational objectives. From my point of view, I partially agree with this statement, in addition, more researches and examination should be added. Therefore, I want to focus not merely on the statement but also the external factor which could has an enormous impact on the success of creativity, innovation and design thinking which is the social environment or surroundings (context) to improve that creativity is not made only by individuals but the appropriate context keep a promoting role. This paper’s objective is to summarize the link between the creativity, innovation and design thinking definition and clearly examine the statement. Furthermore, this paper also emphasize the writer’s observation by using related theory about the discussion that successful creativity innovation and design thinking activities are depend on individual work relate to the surroundings of business environment.

The definition of Creativity, Innovation and Design Thinking In this first part, there will be the detailed definitions of the three mentioned elements (creativity, innovation and design thinking) so as to display the force they create within the organization development. The second part will discuss about the theory applied which is the Teresa Amabile’s Theory: Compontentail Model of Organizational Creativity and Innovation and the real world example combined to advocate the viewpoint. Creativity is considered as a necessity and the most committing influence to an organization achievement, and which is defined as the mental behavior like curiosity, awareness, observation, evaluation, and imagination (Leaderonomics.com, 2017). Creativity can be understood as convenient and helpful response to the facing problem which help to figure out not only the solution manage the issue but also the way to solve or to work more effectively. Simply witnessing, creativity not merely attend in a central part of revolutionizing process but also in daily life. Innovation is defined as the “creativity implemented” whose meaning is the constructive application in the real life. From the perspective of societal and global, innovation takes a crucial function, a catalyst for the growth and accomplishment of any business, and help the business adapt in the marketplace (Business.gov.au, 2018). Additionally, the term of innovation include the process of making, the approach of improvement for business strategy and products. Taking the light bulb- one of the most popular invention of Thomas Edison in 1879 , the invention idea stared from the beginning concept of Thomas Edison which was electric power generation and distributing to household, business and factory needs, but then the light bulb cannot run without electricity, so in the same year, Thomas Edison tried to figure out the way to deliver electricity and came up with an idea which was a generator, and then the first generator design was based on the first gas design which include conductors, meters, lamp fixture , sockets and current switches(sciencing.com,2017). This example determine that with your great base knowledge, creative idea, association, you provoke, generate your creativity to make innovative product and services which guide to the business success(Leaderonomics.com,2017).Design thinking can be explained as a methodology which brings a solution-based suggestion for solving issue . Its highly helpful in dealing with complicated issues by finding out and deeply understanding the human needs contained inside, by re-framing the difficulty in human-central way, by coming up with many new ideas in brainstorming

section, and lastly by selecting a hand-on solution in prototyping and examining. According to The Interaction Design Foundation, with the deep down understanding of 5 levels of Design thinking will optimize your solving problem ability which are empathise, describe( the issue), ideate, prototype, test. Normally, these 3 elements mentioned above( creativity, innovation, and design thinking ) tells the business how to generate new idea then apply to solve the problems, the more effectively your organization apply the new idea, the more efficiency your business will gain. Moreover, these 3 concepts also encourage the employees to contribute their new idea to the business, and the more creativity transformed to innovation, the more improvements will be made for the organization.

The Componential Theory of Organizational Creativity and Innovation The theory has stated that one of the most crucial organizational consideration is the top managers always have to looking for the techniques on how to boost the creativity level of their employees, and encourage the creative performing contribution for the organization in order to achieve more significant success. Teresa Amabile, the one who formalize and articulate the Componential Theory of organizational creativity and innovation to predominantly describe the theory under four main factors which affect the individual’s step of creativity, moreover illustrate the process of creativity, its impact and its outcome. Creativity performance can maximize its own efficiency when it meet these requirements: -

Firstly, each employee is highly motivated Secondly, this employee has a large area of expertise Thirdly, this employee must have creative thinking skill Lastly, an appropriate context to transform the creativity to innovation and application

First of all, for generating creativity in workplaces, the employees must have a solid base of knowledge, major understanding, technical skills which means a large area of expertise required, furthermore, it also need a significant cognitive skills to clarify data and educational knowledge because it is impossible for a guy to become a psychologist without any psychological understandings . Come to the second point, characteristics mostly decide the level of your creativity skill. The third point is task encouragement which contains of employee’s standard attitude through working on task and their feeling, emotion when they accept the task, the motivation type is separated to intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Nonetheless, according to the Ladders, employees become more creative when they are applied the extrinsic motivating method due to the fact that this motivating method is applied based on enjoyment, hobby, interest and do not being affected by any surroundings factors like benefit or reward or any competition with others. The work of individual does not the only factor affect the success of the business, as Amabile has been enlarged the structure to the fourth factor- the social environment where can decide the maximum or the minimum level of creativity of the employee, which means that the creativity can reach the peak of success or being blocked is decided by the surrounding environment. For instances, the employee will be willing to share his idea and ask for advice and discussion if he is put in the team with peoples who have the same or a little bit higher about the level of education, technique skills . Moreover, the more new approach added, the higher empowered to the employee, the more creative they will be. The real world example for the Componential theory of creativity is Google, when it comes to motivating employees, Google leads the way, the brand is well-known as its pool tables and bowling alley, free food and gym membership, and even recruit a chief happiness officer whose mission is to keep employees happy and control productivity. It is obviously can ensure that the bottom line of the idea is to make sure

the employees completely satisfied, and when the employees are satisfied, the productivity will grow and the business will gain more benefit. The Google’s work culture is based on the philosophy concept:” To create the happiest, most productive workplace in the world”. Moreover, mostly channels for expressing and communicating ideas and thoughts are allowed to use by the employees of Google. As a company, Google treat its own employees as its most important assets with the share in everything and everything in the organization can be shared. By this way, Google is willing to display to the world that they believe their employees with confidentiality. Google absolutely trust in the freedom they give to its workers so as to ensure the most significant productivity and creativity. Besides all of these enjoyment that Google brings to their employees, the company still ensure that the standard of employee performances. The fact is that not only finish the work, Googlers always outperform the manageable expectation for delivering the outstanding work.

Conclusion: For concluding, I am strongly agree with the notion that successful creativity innovation and design thinking are not only depend on the work of each employee but also the external factors (the surrounding and the community in the organization). By taking Google as a typical example to examine the mentioned theory, I can summarize that even internal or external elements could be considered as a mixture requirements for successful creativity, innovation and design thinking.
