Alvin J. Schmidt, Ph.D., documents from Islam’s Koran & reliable historical sources that there are chasm-wide differences between the Western world & the world of Islam, as documented in his book “The Great Divide”: •Jesus Christ & Muhammad, the founder of Islam, were on opposite sides of the great divide regarding the most basic ethical issues. •Christianity in its first three centuries grew without resorting to violence as opposed to Islam, which from its beginning grew & expanded by the use of force. •The West gave freedom & dignity to women as opposed to the Islamic world’s practice of veiling & restricting the freedom of women. •Slavery was first outlawed in the West, whereas it is still practiced in some Islamic countries today. •There is another side to the Crusades of the Middle Ages that has not been told in most school textbooks: they were largely defensive wars fought against expansionist militant Islam. •Experimental science arose in the West, largely the result of Christian thinkers who saw God as a rational being whose world could be rationally studied, whereas Islam had some prominent philosophers, but they discovered no scientific laws. •Separation of religion & the state is a Western practice that stems from words Jesus Christ spoke about Caesar & God. Islamic countries are all either theocracies or dictatorships. •Many politicians say Islam is a “peaceful religion”. In fact Islam is the most violent religion the world has ever known.
