CHOUTEAU PARK Forest Park Southeast Neighborhood Park Plan August 2006, H3 Studio completed a neighborhood park for the Forest Park Southeast Neighborhood. This plan was prepared for the City of Saint Louis Parks Department to identify a site in the Forest Park Southeast Neighborhood for the development of the new park park. The site was identified on the north 4300-block of Chouteau Avenue, between Newstead and Tower Grove Avenues Avenues.

CHOUTEAU PARK Design Objectives • “The park should be unique; it should be unlike other typical neighborhood parks” • Grade the site in a creative way that opens the park to the neighborhood, creates a clear identity for the neighborhood and screens the highway • Provide a natural amphitheater integrated into site topography for community gatherings • Provide an active playscape/playground for children that includes a water spray feature • Provide a level multi-purpose space for special events and informal recreation
CHOUTEAU PARK Design Objectives • Well-lighted areas to sit, gather, wander or picnic • Provide a trail circuit for walking/exercise • Consider the option of a permanent food vendor or restaurant • Provide display space for public art integrated into landforms or park features • Develop a plan that can be implemented in phases as additional funds become available
