Silent Sitting • Silent sitting – Process of turning inbringing the inner consciousness in the forefront. • Voice of God is heard in the depth of silence. • Effective means of communicating with our inner-self.
Silent Sitting – Why? • To quieten the continuous chattering of mind. • To reduce the number of thoughts arising in the minds. • To experience Divinity- To calm the agitated mind (Monkey mind) • Child gets a chance to contribute, realize his or her full potential when it gains approval and emotional support.
Techniques of Silent Sitting • Correct posture of sitting. • Posture should be comfortable. • Distance between the two children should be maintained while sitting. • The body of the back should be 90 degrees. • Eyes should be half closed. • Sight should be aimed at the tip of the nose.
Duration & How • Silent sitting for one or two minutes in the beginning. • To increase the duration in due course. • Guided visualizations to help to focus mind on one object or idea. • Jyothi meditation. • Practice of Sohum mantra.
