Synonyms: [Allergan] B, [Benedril]. Pharmacological action. Antihistaminic, cholinolytic and sedative. Indications to the application. Allergic diseases (hives, hay fever, allergic conjunctivitis, serum disease, vasomotor head cold, medicinal allergies, pruritic dermatosis, the Quincke's edema and others), sea air sickness, parkinsonism, chorea, Meniere's syndrome, as the calming and soporific substance, in anesthesiology for strengthening the action of anesthetic means.

Method of application and dose. Inward, it is intramuscular, into the vein, it is local (outwardly, in the form ocular drops, to the mucous membrane of nose), it is rectal. Hypodermically they do not introduce because of the irritating action. Inward on 0,025-0,05 g of 1-3 times in the day, it is intramuscular and it is intravenous on 1-5 ml 1% solution; in the form ocular drops (0,2-0,5% solution). Highest one-time doses inside 0,1 g, daily 0,25 g, are intramuscular 0,05 g and 0,15 g respectively. Side-line action. Vertigo, headache, dryness in the mouth, nausea, sleepiness, general weakness, hypersensitivity. Contra-evidence. Is not recommended to assign DIMEDROL (Dimedrol) during the work to the drivers of transport and to those, whose profession requires fast response. Form of release. Powder, tablet on 0,05 g, in the packing - 10 pieces; tablet on 0,02 g, in the packing - 6 pieces for the children; the ampule on 1 ml 1% of solution, in the packing - 10 pieces; suppository on 0,01 g, in the packing - 10 pieces for the children; rod on 0,05 g, in the packing of 10 pieces. Storage conditions. List b. In the place protected from the light. Period of fitness. Powder - 5 years; tablet, ampule - 4 years; rod and suppository - 2 years.
