Comment On Graph The line of best fit passes through almost all the points. The line of best fit passes just below the origin showing that there is a systematic error in the experiment. It shows that as the temperature increases the length of air column increases

Conclusion The experiment validates Charles law with in some degree of error as the line of best fit on the graph of length of air column against temperature / k is a straight line that passes through the origin. As the length of the column is an indication of the volume of air, the results verify Charles law as it states that volume is directly proportional to temperature at a constant temperature.

Sources of error 1. The tubes used were to thin and this could have made it difficult for enough air to pass through it 2. A larger range of values should be used, to increase the accuracy of the results. Improvement to experiment 1. The tubes used should have a wider cross-sectional area, so that air can easily flow through the tube. 2. By using another solvent with a higher boiling point, a larger range of reading can be measured. This will increase the accuracy of the experiment and remove any random errors.
