CHAPTER III RESEARCH METHODOLOGY This chapter presents the techniques and methods utilized by the researchers to complete the research. Steps complied in the research: 1. Preliminary Data Gathering - The initial gathering of data is used to form a general idea and determining the problems that can be encountered in the study. The required data for the study were collected from different Government departments and organizations such as Municipal office, MDRRMO, and DPWH. 2. Data Analysis and Preliminary Computation - The evaluation and computation of the data collected, wherein the initial design of the structural facilities, will be based; Population growth, location, area the facility to be covered in barangay Iba O’ Este, , volume needed, and the facilities’ service years, etc. 3. Preliminary Design/Concept -The basic idea of every member of the facilities that would be required by the study includes the; General Plan wherein the general idea of the study will be implemented, the Location Plan, which is necessary to construct the facilities, Structural Design that is based on the initial computation.

4. Surveys/Final Data Gathering -The final collection of data from different sources affected by the studied problems for revision of designs. The survey includes; The surveyed community (Residence) for the local problems and suggested preference that may be acquired, transportation survey for the oppinon of the commuters affected by flooding. 5. Final Computation -The final computated data will be the basis of the final designs of the facilities of the study. Such as the Structural Capacity for each and every facility; like storages and conduits that will be needed to cover the required measures. 6. The Final Design of the Facilities -The detailed plan of the facilities includes the specifications, measures of every members of the plan, future allowances, the number of facilities needed to be provided, and the idea of expansion.
