Chapter 1: Introduction to Fuzzy Sets Definition of Fuzzy Sets Fuzzy sets are the sets with no crisp boundaries. The sets have gradations of belonging. Members of a fuzzy set have some degree of membership defined by a membership function. The membership function assigns a degree of membership to all the members of a fuzzy set. This degree of membership always lies within the interval [0, 1]. For example in the set of beautiful girls, we can’t say clearly that who are the exact members of this set. We can decide this by defining a membership function which assigns
