Change Butler Elects Officers Change Butler, a progressive grassroots political action committee in Butler County, elected officers at its general meeting on Monday, March 30, 2009. The PAC elected a diverse leadership group from communities throughout central and eastern Butler County. Jocelyn Bucaro, resident of Liberty Township, school teacher and former White House staff member during the Clinton Administration, was elected president. Julie Robinson, also a Liberty Township resident and former neighborhood team leader in for the Obama/Biden campaign was elected vice-president. Tom Kelly from Hamilton, a technical support and customer service representative, was elected treasurer. Kathy Wyenandt, from Liberty Township, a former sales manager for a national furniture chain and current stay-at-home mom was elected secretary. In addition, the PAC elected seven at-large members for a board of directors including: Brian Harrison and Steve Urso from Monroe; Justin Gerard and Tony Klimek from West Chester Township; Alryssa Kelly from Hamilton: and George Stephan and Justin Coussoule from Liberty Township. Jocelyn Bucaro, newly elected president was honored and excited to lead the group and said, “Change Butler is looking forward to building on the enthusiasm of its members and creating an organization that will promote progressive leaders and ideas in Butler County and offer a change from politics-as-usual.” Change Butler is focusing on three main legislative issues this year, including a recycling initiative in area townships, statewide health care reform, and education financing reform. The PAC also is recruiting neighborhood captains to help with voter outreach. Change Butler is also planning a celebration of President Obama’s first 100 days in office on May 17th. The celebration will feature a sit-down dinner, guest speakers and live music at the Riverbank Café in Hamilton. Tickets are on sale for $40 per person.
