Climates There are a wide variety of climates in the U.S. due to its large size, changing elevations, ocean and wind currents. The U.S. lies squarely in the midlatitude region - about 23 1/2°N to 60°N

Dry Climates Dry climates are found in the plateaus and basins west of the Rockies and western part of the Great Plains. Why would this be true?

Not the grey areas…

High Latitude Climates This climate is found in the western mountains and Alaska. Alaska also has Tundra and subarctic climates.

Grey areas

Tropical Climates Hawaii is the wettest state and tropical climate is found at the southern tip of Florida.
