Summer Internships Under the BBS and BFIA programs, students are required to undertake a 6-8 weeks internship with organisations after Semester IV. Most students undergo training after Semester II as well. The Summer Internships widen the students' perspective by providing an exposure to real life organizational and environmental situations. Positioned between the second and third years, internship is the most effective aid in enabling the students to relate management theory and practice. The organization, in turn benefits from the objective and unbiased perspective the student provides based on concepts and skills imbibed in the first two years at SSCBS. Typically, projects involve assigning independent responsibility to the summer interns, under the guidance of a company executive. The work done by our students has been greatly appreciated by many organizations and frequently the recommendations made have been successfully implemented.

Student Clubs & Committees There are over a dozen student clubs & committees in CBS. Some cater to the cocurricular and extra-curricular interests, while rest are aimed at organizing the major annual events of college. Conducting events throughout the year ensures that students acquire organizational, leadership, and coordination skills. As exercises in understanding group dynamics and team building, the events are a necessary supplement to classroom teaching. The mainstays of college calendar:

Convergence A two day seminar, Convergence is the foundation of CBS' year round interactions with corporate community. The event is spread over four sessions covering areas of Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Information Technology. Industry experts are invited to share their views on specific themes, which is followed by an interactive session between the students and guests. Convergence is unique in two ways. Firstly it gives students a vital connection between theory and practice as they learn from people who are there and are doing it all. Secondly it is a platform for speakers to discuss among themselves ideas that are in the process of changing the business environment and gain from each other's views.

Reminiscence In spite of a young history, CBS alumni is rocking the top echelons of corporate world. The annual alumni dinner is a time for these movers and shakers to catch up with each other and, with the latest developments at their alma mater. The alumni dinner has till date served as a prelude to the Alumni Association, which is being formed this year. The college plans to stay in touch with the alumni, and work with them for the progress of the college, on a consistent basis.

The Process  The company is requested to mail to us a brief Job Description [JD] and expected compensation at [email protected].  In case companies are interested in giving a Pre-Placement Talk instead of mailing the Job Descriptions, necessary arrangements shall be made.  The list of companies, their Job Descriptions and compensations, is provided to all the candidates opting for placements. Each student is asked to assign scores to the companies based on personal preference.  Based on overall scores given by students, slots are allotted to companies and same is communicated to them.  A maximum of two companies shall be slotted on a single day. On the scheduled date, companies shall visit the campus and proceed with their selection process.  A Company may adopt any combination of methods to select students, provided it has been communicated to, and agreed upon by, the CDC beforehand.  If two companies are visiting the campus on same day, both companies must declare their final offers simultaneously. They are advised to maintain a waiting list, in case a student gets multiple offers.

Placement Policy (1+1 concept) Once a student receives a final offer from one company, (s)he is allowed to 'appear' for the selection procedure of only one other dream company, irrespective of successful conversion. On a given day, if a student gets final offers from both the companies visiting campus, s/he must choose to accept any one offer on that day itself. This student still retains the option of appearing for the selection procedure of one Dream Company.
