MOTIVATION PLAN/BENEFITS Research is a way of examining fact and value of any discipline. It is undertaken within most professions especially in academics. More than a set of skills, it is a way of thinking, examining critically the various aspects of our professional, educational and academic work. It is a habit of questioning what you do, and a systematic examination of the observed information to find answers with a view to instituting appropriate changes for a more effective professional and professional service. Research is a structured enquiry that utilizes acceptable scientific methodology to solve problems and create new knowledge that is generally applicable. Research is a process of collecting, analyzing and interpreting information to answer questions. It is an investigation, examination, scrutiny of the process, methods, types, hypotheses procedures and design, which are the foundation pillars of the good research. It is a prerequisite for any research to use appropriate methods and tools for proper outcomes on different issues. By using proper research methods we can improve our outcomes that are beneficial and provides basis for further research. Research findings heavily contribute for policy formulation in different sectors. That is why knowledge of writing and conducting a good research for those who are aspiring to enter in to the research field, is essential. The purpose of this program is to enhance the capability of conducting quality research among faculty members and further bring out completed research into publishable material of high quality in the form of journal articles/books. Expected benefits will be to: • Develop capacity for conceptualizing and writing research proposals. • Enhance skills to prepare an appropriate research design. • Develop the capacity for planning and writing a book. • Develop the capacity for grant applications. • Develop the capacity for teaching and learning.

BOOK REVIEW Book: “Manager’s Guide to Performance Reviews”. a) About the Book: The above mentioned book is authored by Mr. Robert Bacal, who is CEO of M/s. Bacal & Associates. M/s. Bacal & Associates is training and consulting firm dedicated to contributing to the work success of both individual and companies. Mr. Bacal holds a Graduate Degree in Applied Psychology and his book is the 4th on performance-related topics. This book is printed in the United States of America, in the year 2004 and published by the McGraw Hill Companies, Inc. This is a CWL Publishing Enterprises Book, developed and produced for McGraw-Hill by CWL Publishing Enterprises has total 12 Chapters spread over 226 pages. b) Author’s Contribution in the Subject: Author has written this book in a friendly, person-to-person style for giving the practical information. The Chapters are relatively short and deal with tactical issues and include lots of examples. In 1st Chapter itself, author has given a very effective illustration of two different ways of reviewing performance. He has explicitly stated the usefulness of Performance Review Systems working properly. Performance Reviews are very powerful tools that can contribute to personal success, success of employees and Work Unit and the Company. Performance Reviews are to be viewed as an investment rather than a cost. Unfortunately, most of us, have had bad experience with Performance Reviews as employees and we carry that experience with us when we become Managers. Author has distinguished very effectively by illustration, the proper and improper process of reviewing performance. He using the information and analysis, you create with each employee during the review meeting to determine how best to improve performance. Once you identify the barriers to performance or opportunities to improve performance, the same could be remedied through training and development. The information collected during the Performance Management Process is to make more effective decisions about training, development, budgeting and spending. Author has also described about Rating and Ranking Systems, Problem Solving to remove barriers, the rewards and punishments dilemma etc. at length, for effective and useful Performance Management Process.

c) How it is useful for current Research: book is that Manager (Reviewer/Appraisor) himself/herself should have strong, positive perceptions of Performance Review Systems followed in his/her Work Unit/Company. Performance Reviews are required to be viewed as an investment rather than a cost. Proper periodical training on Performance Management is also required to be given to employees, by Management. Performance Planning, On-going Performance Communication, Gathering data, Observing and Documenting, Performance Review Meetings are required to be well-connected to Performance Review Activity for more effective and meaningful Performance Management. planned and „rationalised‟ in terms of Company‟s Target and Top Management‟s Plans. Departmental Goals should map out what and how the Department is to contribute toward achieving the Company‟s goals and cascading down to individual goals. Each Employee‟s performance goals and responsibilities are derived from those of the Department. The linkage is forged during the Performance-Planning phase. Process is to make more effective decisions about training, development, budgeting and spending. On identification of barriers to performance or opportunities to improve performance, the same could be remedied through Training and Development. From all the above aspects, Researcher is able to formulate his questionnaire and discuss in brief, the related issues with the Management of Companies to be visited

INFLUENCE ON TEACHING AND RESEARCH As a scholar and teacher, I always work hard to improve my knowledge and teaching skills. So, I want to participate capacity building programs and related. At the end of the program participants will be able to  Adapt reflective teaching as a means of professional development  Respond to learner needs in order to design and deliver learner centric lessons  Select teaching approaches and activities matching the learner needs  Balance instructional strategies to meet individual needs  Stimulate learning environment to make it conducive for effective teaching and active learning  Deal with the learning difficulties of students  Assess the progress and achievement of learners using variety of tools and techniques  Evaluate the learning programme and own professional development  Implement students’ evaluation

RESEARCH PLAN As I am scholar and this research insights is going to be very helpful me .After the proper imbibe of the contents of this course I will plan accordingly 1) I already have a plan to at least publish one research paper in every two months related to my topic. I am more interested to work on research paper based on primary data and it’s requiring a thorough knowledge of research fundamentals. 2) Apart from publishing paper I would like to hone my skills through capacity building programme to make teaching more effective and plan to pass its techniques in more better and detailed way to students. 3) I also plan to write chapters in books. I already received certain proposals from my known circle, that is my most prioritizes area to concentrate in future and this capacity building programme is definitely help me to channelize my knowledge as a professional writer. 4) Working in research seeks more accuracy to use the fundamentals on field and this programme will support me enhance my application of knowledge on practical aspects. The aim of this plan to minimizes the errors in my research through innovations in collection, interpretation and analyses of data. 5) The another vital reason behind to attend this capacity building

programme is to

strengthening and improving the ability of developing fundamentals both theoretically and practically to guide other researchers in my periphery, those are not able to join this programme due to distant places and other inevitable reasons. 6) Through this capacity building prograrame, I plan to use these skills and knowledge in developing the better structure for my research work. After this programme under the light of more enhance knowledge and skills I reanalyze my research work and would like to add more value and meaning to my research. 7) After attending the programme, I can learn the procedures to get different types of Research projects available under different agencies. It enhances and develop the capacity for writing project proposals for external funding. 8) To know about case studies and how to design, discuss and train the students to solve. I recent days learning process is changed, we must adopt it.

9) In 21st century, technology plays vital role in all domains include Education also. As a faculty we must up to date, so I have a chance to learn the different tools, techniques and technologies which is help to my further research.
