Brief abstract of our presentation: Lessons Learned during Large-scale Fire Response and Recovery Operations By Lyndsey Taylor, Director Security and Crisis Management and Catherine Werner, Director Environmental, Health, and Safety This presentation will focus on crisis management and recovery operations associated with one of the largest industrial fires in Kentucky history. On Friday, April 3, 2015, a one million square foot warehouse space ignited and burned. The fire required response by more than 200 firefighters from all suburban departments. While the cause of the fire is still unknown, there are numerous lessons learned from this event that the presenters will share including: emergency preparedness before the event, crisis management during the event, and how the entire GE Appliances Supply Chain network came together to resume business operations.
