March 7, 2019 Dear Parents, The fourth grade students are about to begin a very important project called a “Famous Californian Living Museum.” It consists of four main requirements:    

A research report (written in the third person) about a famous Californian with a timeline and bibliography A display board A creative product An oral presentation (presented in the first person) with costume

Parents will be invited to view their children’s efforts during Open House, where all of their work will be displayed. Some of the work for the project will be done at home and some will be done at school. Here is how you can help your child: 1. Take him/her to the public library to gather information about the famous person that he/she has selected. Your child will need to use at least three resources to gather facts. 2. Make sure your child comes to school prepared with his/her materials when needed, so he/she can work on research during class. 3. Help your child with the time management aspects of this project by checking the requirements and due dates on the “California Living Museum Timeline.” As always, we appreciate your encouragement and support. We think you will be very pleased with the end results of this project. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Sincerely, The Fourth Grade Teachers Please complete the tear-off below and return to your child’s teacher.
