Contribution: Prepared Test Plan and test cases; Installation testing (on both Windows 2k server and Solaris8 operating systems) ; GUI testing; Backup & restore testing –This involved taking the whole system backup with options like backup of configuration files, directory server, log files,debug files etc and deleting those files to check whether they got restored properly or not ; Logging testing-This involved testing of various types of logging like-Local, remote, Database, secure logging etc; Internationalization testing- This involved testing the software's GUI whether it can be customizable to different international languages like Japanese and Chinese. APIs testing- This involved writing test drivers for the exposed APIs of logging module in the Javadoc. Test Automation: Automated GUI using Silk test ; Automated Backup & Restore testing (which is CLI based) by writing shell scripts and integrated with TET environment. File redirection in Windows NT was not working. Used ‘Expect’ tool for solving that problem. Automated APIs testing. Just running the script will enter the PASS or FAIL of each Java program (which has got some APIs inside it) in a file. This will run in Windows platform also using MKS, which simulates the korn shell in windows. Integrated with Test Environment Toolkit (TET). ACHIEVEMENTS Having Enterprenuership spirit – Successfully contributed to business development of
previous organization by providing new domains and technical areas that could be explored for new business. Successfully contributed to business development of one of the reputed clients of the previous organization by providing a potential product idea.
