Calculating time difference 

To calculate Greenwich Mean Time (GMT): 

If the GMT is positive, we must subtract (-), but if the GMT is negative, we must add (+)



For example: Thailand is +07:00, so we must subtract (+07:00 – 07:00 = 00:00 GMT) Vancouver is -08:00. so we must add (-08:00 + 08:00 = 00:00 GMT)

Calculating GMT 

If the local time in Thailand (+07:00) is 15:00. 

To calculate GMT: 



15:00 – 07:00 = 08:00 GMT

If the local time in Vancouver (-08:00) is 15:00. 

To calculate GMT: 

15:00 + 08:00 = 23:00 GMT

Calculating Time Difference 

If the local time in Thailand (+07:00) is 15:00, what is the local time in Vancouver (-08:00)?  

1st: calculate GMT: 15:00 – 07:00 = 08:00 GMT 2nd: calculate Vancouver local time: 08:00 GMT – 08:00 Vancouver GMT Vancouver Local Time is 00:00 Or, Vancouver local time is midnight.
