BOARH OE SPECIFIC JURISDICTION Are you interested in the Catholic education of our children? The Office of Catholic Schools is encouraging arid fostering the development of a Board cjf Specified Jurisdiction, a new governance model for our elementary parish school, St. Therese. A Board of Specified Jurisdiction recognizes the expertise and dedication present in the laity; at the same time it recognizes that the school's viability and vitality for the longterm rest on broadening the school's base of support in the community. A Board of Specified Jurisdiction (or BSJ) has authority for decision-making for the school in specified areas; this authority is delegated by the Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the areas of vision and mission; institutional development; finance and facilities; and marketing and recruitment. The BSJ is empowered to cooperate and collaborate with the principal and the Superintendent in the work of administering and leading the school.
