It is situated at the foot of the Gatineau Hills where three rivers and the Rideau Canal meet. Ottawa is a jewel to be discovered and a city for all seasons! Established in 1986 by Louise Charest, l’Estrie Languag School has a long tradition of providing top quality instruction in English and French to Canadian federal and provincial governments, fortune 500 companies and multinational corporations. Centrally located, L’Estrie has a bright fully equipped facility, a student lounge and modern computer lab with free internet and e-mail access.l Situated in the heart of the city, you can walk to Parliament Hill, the National Arts Centre, the fabulous shopping and eating establishments at the Rideau Centre or in the Byward Market, or job along the Rideau Canal.

The focus of our Intensive English program is to improve all skills, such as, reading, writing, speaking and listening. We place an importance on being able to communicate effectively through in-class practice eith classmates and teachers. For students in immersion 25 or 30, elective classes are offered from 2-3 pm Monday to Friday. Students can choose between the following classes :

Students can choose which intensive English program best suits their needs in order to achieve their goals. When you choose to study at L’Estrie, you get the opportunity to do the following :

Each month students have an opportunity to select one of these classes. The classes with the most students will be offered in that particular session. Changing electives or staying int he same one allows students the chance to improve in areas that they feel they need in order to achieve their goals.

For students who have a lot or little time to learn English, L’Estrie Language School offers students 4 options.

This program is geared for students looking to enter a college or university in North America or wanting to do their TOEFL. Our qualified and experienced counselors will provide the necessary information to help students to apply for a school. This price includes : • Registration Fee • Intensive English 25 hours/week (Refer to page 3) • Books/Materials • Homestay Placement Fee • Airport pick-up • Homestay - 3 meals/day • Educational counselors assist students with applying for a visa extension, an english entrance test, choosing a major, and filling out university/college applications.

The Intensive TOEIC/Business English class is a 3 hour class (Monday to Friday) that is designed for students at an intermediate level or higher who are interested in improving their skills for the TOEIC test and their ability to discuss, write, present, and comprehend reading and listening activities for business purposes. You can combine our Intensive Immersion 15 in the morning and this program in the afternoon.

These short-term vacation programs for teenagers and young adults combine classroom learning with social-cultural activities.

This price includes: • Classes 15 hours/week • Registration Fee • Daily Activities • Airport Transfers • Homestay Placement Fees • Homestay - 3 meals/day • Buss Pass • Organized chaperoned trip to Toronto and Wonderland or Niagara Falls (Summer)

An enjoyable and exciting stay begins with the chemistry between student and family. Our stringent interview process guarantees a caring, compassionate family that will treat the student as one of their won. L’Estrie takes pride in its high standards in selecting host families. In order to fully benefit from the homestay experience, the match between the student and the Canadian family must be made with care. L’Estrie is unique in that we always take time to match the psychological profile of the student to that of the family.

L’Estrie organizes weekly social activities and we can organize weekend excursions upon request. It’s a great way to make new friends! We offer a wide variety of activities for all interests and ages.

Students will be greeted at the airport by the homestay family or by one of our friendly staff members.
