Step 8 - Bench Safety Reinforcement

Lat Wrap, Latch & Bench Frame Recall Instructions

8-1 Remove the existing Bench from your assembled Power Pro. 8-2 Lay the Bench flat on the floor with the Hinge Brackets facing upward. Remove the Screws that secure the Incline Support Bracket to the Bench.

This Assembly Instruction shows how to install this Safety Reinforcement kit to your Power Pro using the supplied Lat Wrap, Latch, Bench Frame and Hardware. Please check all the Parts you have received against the Parts Lists below. Items shown in gray are not included with this Safety Reinforcement kit. 8-3 Remove the four Screws from the two Hinge Brackets. 8-4 Locate the Parts for the Bench Safety Reinforcement. 8-5 Place the Support Tube Frame on the back of the Bench (Ref. Fig 8). The Support Tube Frame should rest on top of the Hinge Brackets, at the squared end of the Bench.

Bench Safety Reinforcement Parts List:

8-6 Line up the holes in the Support Tube Frame with the holes in the Hinge Brackets. 8-7 Insert and tighten the two Machine Screws through the lined up Support Tube Frame and Hinge Bracket holes. There is a Threaded Insert inside each hole for the Machine Screws. 8-8 Insert and tighten the two 1.5” Wood Screws through the Tube Frame and Hinge Bracket into the holes without the Threaded Inserts. 8-9 Install the new Incline Support Bracket (it has been modified to fit over the Support Tube Frame) using the two Hex Bolts and two Washers from your original product. Do not tighten Bolts yet.

1” Wood Screw Hex Bolts

Step 1 - Lat Wrap Safety Reinforcement Washers

8-10 Place a Washer from the original product over the 1” Wood Screw and install into the center slot on the Incline Support Bracket. Throw away the Wood Screw from the original product.

8-11 Tighten the two Hex Bolts to secure the Incline Support Bracket in place.

1-2 Place the Lat Wrap onto the Lat Tower as shown. 1-3 Position one Plate against the back side of the Support Tube, aligning the two Holes on the Plate with those on the Lat Wrap.

1-5 Insert the Hex Head Bolt and Plate assembly through the top Hole on the Lat Wrap and Plate, loosely secure using one Washer and Nylock Nut.

1-6 Insert one Washer onto a Hex Head Bolt and Plate, then through the lower Hole on the Lat Wrap and Plate, loosely secure using one Washer and one Nylock Nut. 1-7 Repeat for the opposite side of the Lat Wrap, top and lower holes using the remaining Plates and Hardware. 1-8 Make any final adjustments to the Lat Wrap and Plates in order to locate into their final position.

1-1 Locate the Lat Wrap, (4) Plates, (4) 2.75” Hex Head Bolts, (8) Washers & (8) Nylock Nuts (all from the Lat Wrap Safety Reinforcement Kit).

1-4 Insert a Washer onto a Hex Head Bolt, then insert the Hex Head Bolt through a Plate.

8-12 FOLLOWING COMPLETED ASSEMBLY OF YOUR POWER ® PRO , THROW AWAY ALL THE ORIGINAL HARDWARE (SCREWS AND ORIGINAL INCLINE SUPPORT BRACKET). Machine Screws

Step 2 - Latch Safety Reinforcement

2-1 Locate the Parts for the Latch Safety Reinforcement.

2-2 Remove the 1” Threaded Knob securing the Riser Bracket to the Standing Platform.

4-1 Locate the Hook with the front edge of the Standing Platform, aligning the threaded Hole on the Platform with the Hole on the Hook (Ref. Fig 4-1).

Rail End Cap

4-2 Loosely secure the Hook using one Washer and Hex Head Bolt. NOTE: Leave approximately 1/2” of Bolt showing.

2-3 Un-install the Rail End Cap by removing the two Phillips Head Screws, then slide the Rail End Cap off. 2-4 Remove the four Nylock Nuts (and Washers) securing the Pivot Bracket to the Rail Assembly (Ref. Fig. 2-1).

4-4 Install the Phillips Head Screw into the bottom side of the Hook. NOTE: The Screw may be installed either directly against the Tube or directly against a Plastic Rib on the Standing Platform. You may need to loosen the Platform Screws to properly seat this Screw into place.

3-6 NOTE: MAKE SURE THE LATCH ROTATES IN THE DIRECTION AS SHOWN AT RIGHT (Ref. Fig. 3-2). 3-7 Re-insert the two Bolt Keeper Assemblies back into the Rail, DO NOT YET INSTALL THE RAIL BACK ONTO YOUR POWER PRO FRAME. ©2003 The Nautilus Group, Inc.

3-5 Next, slide the four supplied Square (or Round) Head Bolts into the end of the Rail. Locate the Latch over the Bolts and secure loosely using four Washers and Nuts, DO NOT FULLY TIGHTEN INTO PLACE.

5-3 NOTE: Do Not Tighten the Hardware installed during this Step, it should be tightened during Step 6.

3-3 Slide the two Bolt Keeper Assemblies and two Square (or Round Head) Bolts toward the open end of the Rail, and completely remove. NOTE: The two Bolt Keepers will be reinstalled during Step 3-7. 3-4 IMPORTANT! Depending on the age of your Power Pro, either Square Head or Round Head Bolts will have been used in your original product. Take note of the Bolts when you remove them and use the same shape Bolts in this assembly.

5-2 Place the Rail Assembly (from Step 3) over onto your Power Pro, loosely re-installing Washers & Nylock Nuts securing the Pivot Bracket.

3-2 NOTE: The Riser Bracket and two Square (or Round) Head Bolts, Nuts & Washers securing the Riser Bracket will not be used in your final assembly and should be thrown away.

Step 5 - Latch Safety Reinforcement

5-1 Carefully rotate your Power Pro back to the upright position.

3-1 Rotate the Rail assembly upside down (Ref. Fig 3-1). Remove the two Nylock Nuts (and Washers) securing the Riser Bracket to the Rail Assembly.

4-5 NOTE: Make certain the Hook edge is parallel with the Hook edge of the Standing Platform, then fully tighten the Hex Head Standing Platform Bolt, Phillips Head Screw and Platform Screws.

Step 3 - Latch Safety Reinforcement

4-3 Next, carefully rotate your Power Pro over onto one side (Ref. Fig. 4-2).

2-5 Carefully lift the Rail Assembly up and away from the Standing Platform (Ref. Fig. 2-2). 2-6 NOTE: The Knob removed during this Step will not be used in your final assembly and should be thrown away.

6-1 Position the Latch with the Hook, making certain the Latch is centered on the Hook and approximately vertical (Ref. Fig. 6). Then install the Knob (included with your Kit) through the Latch and into the Hook.

6-2 Make certain the Bolt Keepers are flush with the end of the Rail then tighten all Nylock Nuts securing the Rail to Latch the Pivot Bracket and Latch. 6-3 Finally, reinstall the Rail End Cap.

WARNING: THE KNOB MUST BE SECURELY TIGHTENED BEFORE EACH USE.

Step 7 - Latch Safety Reinforcement

Latch final Adjustments

7-1 Test the installation of your Latch by uninstalling the Knob, then slightly rotate the Latch away from the Rod Pack, lifting the Nylock Rail Assembly up (as shown at right). As this happens, the Latch Nuts should remain perpendicular to the Rail (as shown at right). 7-2 Next, lower the Rail back to the floor, allowing the Latch to slide over and “hook” into the engaged position. Finally, re-install the Knob. If the Knob is difficult to engage, loosen the Nylock Nuts securing the Latch and adjust slightly. Then reinstall the Knob and retighten the Nuts.
