Alternating each year between a city in northern Mexico and one in the southwestern United States, the Border Energy Forum emphasizes communications about critical energy needs and priorities at local, state and regional levels. It attracts participants from all 10 U.S. and Mexican border states, Mexico City, and Washington, D.C. Interest in regional energy issues is higher now than it has ever been since the Texas General Land Office first organized the Border Energy Forum in 1994. Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson is proud to co-host this year’s Forum in California with the help of the California Energ y Commission, the California Center for Sustainable Energy, and many other local, state and regional partners. California is the ninth border state to host the Border Energy Forum.
