Zack Butson Ms. Long Composition June 8, 2009 Doctor No: The Spy Who ‘Thrilled’ Me. “The name’s Bond…James Bond.” Quoting that illustrious line without humming the Bond theme song is near impossible. Suiting up for a wedding and not jointing your hands into a gun is even that much more unfeasible. Every man wants to be James Bond, and every woman wants to be with James Bond. Luckily, Ian Fleming gives both parties their dream in his sixth James Bond adventure Doctor No. Combining the vivid depictions of Jamaica, the stunning Honey Ryder, and the cunning plot of Dr. No, Fleming is able to create the blueprint for all spy adventures forth! Bond is sent into Jamaica to investigate the disappearance of Agent John Strangways. While everyone almost unanimously excuses the case as a run-away, Bond has other thoughts. His suspicions increase when he finds he has been followed and targeted. He soon learns that Strangway was hot on the case of a Julius No, a secretive Chinese-German who homes a forbidden island called Crab Tree, that is believed to be haunted by a fierce dragon. As Bond travels to island, he befriends the gorgeous Honey Ryder, whom is thrown into the fire on a routine search for shells. Together the soon-to-be lovers are put threw the villainous wrath of the good doctor himself.
