Detention Center 10 S. 6th St. Cottonwood, AZ 86326 LETTER OF INTENT TO SUE This letter is to serve notice to the Board of Supervisors for Yavapai Co. Detention Center and correctional officers involved of my intent to recover damages caused by certain persons employed with Yavapai Co. Detention Center. The lawsuit will address a physical assault/excessive use of force by correctional officers in my incrassation, April 2009. As allowed under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), I have attempted to retrieve documents about my records, personal information in relation to the correctional officers involved and the department’s policy regarding the use of force. This department deliberately and willfully failed to provide me such information in order to settle my grievances within the department, thus, violated my civil rights as a citizen of Arizona. I am obligated to seek relief for damages through a component court under this jurisdiction.
