(Judges 18:5, James 1:5-6, Deut. 32:7) How? (Matt. 21:22) His way is the “good way” and will “ease your soul” (Ps. 23:3, Isa. 30:15-21) It is the way of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:19) However, if you choose the wrong path, He will, out of love, place obstacles in your way (Jer. 6:21) Listen to the sound of the trumpet (Jer. 6:17, Isa. 58:1) = Pay attention to the call/warning from God regarding the dangers ahead if you do not correct your path (Gal. 5:19-21) From whom? (Jer. 25:4-6, Ezek. 3:16-17, Hab. 2:1, Heb. 13:17) God’s judgment acts as a sign/warning (Jer. 6:18-19, 18:15) If you do not identify/acknowledge sin & root it out, you will develop a seared conscience (1 Tim. 4:2) and become spiritually blind, so you will not be able to see which way is best (Isa. 8:20, John 12:35) God is not impressed with appearances but rather, with right hearts (Jer. 6:20) God seeks evidence of genuine contrition (Jer. 6:26, Jonah 3:5-10) To “test metal” = to test moral character The fire of the furnace is intended to refine/purify (Zech. 13:9, Titus 2:14, James 1:2-4) Have you ever had your moral character tested?
