AIM Our aim is to help each child to develop his or her full potential academically, socially, physically, morally, spiritually and aesthetically and to provide opportunities for achievement, satisfaction and enjoyment. The establishment of school on public school lines is one of the ways by which this craving for quality in education has been in a measure met .Such education has been and will be a national asset, of practical use and not a mere prestigious symbol.

MANAGEMENT

The Blessings Matriculation Hr. Sec. School is founded by the Blessings Educational Trust (regd). The management for this institution is vested in a Board of Governors with Sri.Thomas Jeyapaul, M.A., M.Ed., Principal & Chairman, whose vast experience more than three decades in the field of education and his perfect understanding of human beings inspires the students, parents and staff alike to achieve the objects of quality education of the highest standard.

ENVIRONMENT The School is located at Keerapakkam, on the Chengalpattu-Mahabalipuram main road, (9 km from Chengalpattu) situated in an ideal spot. The campus is spacious having ten acres of land with good water facilities and freed of sorts of pollution. THE CURRICULUM The K.G Children enjoy homely atmosphere. There is no forced education. They enjoy learning through the play–way method we follow .Children are encouraged to speak only in English always in school. Children in the primary school follow a course aimed at giving them a wide experience and the opportunity of achieving as high an academic standard as possible for each individual. Limited number of children enable them to have perfect understanding with the teacher. Modern teaching aids include video programmes and computers. The subjects taught include English, Tamil, Hindi, French, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Arts & crafts, Moral Science, Music, Arrival Tamil, Environmental Education and Physical Education. Enough Library periods are allotted to enhance reading habit. CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Co-curricular activities such as Recitation, Quiz, Dramatics, Elocution, Painting, Observation Tests, Extempore, Mono-acting, Essay Writing, Poetry Composing, Clay modeling, Crafts etc. are designed to stimulate the interest of

the students in hobbies and provide opportunities for creativity, originality and self-expressions thereby ensuring the formation of a balanced and integrated personality. Competitions are held twice a month .Music classes are conducted regularly to promote vocal and instrumental music. HOUSE SYSTEM Students are allotted to four houses: Roses, Lily, Daffodils and Blue Bells for providing good training in citizenship, team spirit and for better participation and healthy competitions. All competitions cultural, sports and academics are held on an inter-house basis, giving the children ample opportunities to discover the God given talents in them. GAMES AND SPORTS Physical Education is compulsory for all students .Every morning they undergo physical training before they start the day. Their physical skills are developed as they play games like Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Cricket, Badminton, Hockey and Foot Ball in the evenings. The School offers training in Karate for interested students in both mornings and evenings to teach them the art of weaponless combat. OTHER SPECIALTIES The School is managed by a Principal with rich experience in Public School line who is helped by a group of trained, experienced, competent and enterprising teachers. They train the children in curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. To ensure quality education maximum strength of each class is restricted to only 30 always. Good transportation facility is available in the school. The hostel is homely, Principal within their reach and the vast

playground promises sound physical health, ultimately provides all round development. Emphasis is on thorough knowledge in every subject .The teacher pupil interaction is cordial. ADMISSION The academic year is from June to April. Admission is granted to classes L.K.G to Std XI by conducting Entrance Exam in English, Maths and I Language. Oral test will be conducted for classes L.K.G to Std III .The children completed 3 year of age are admitted in L.K.G class. The school provides State Matriculation Board Pattern. On receipt of the application from the parents with registration fees of Rs.250/- the names of the applicants will be entered in the waiting list and if admission is granted, the parents of the applicant will be given joining instruction. The registration fee is neither transferable nor refundable. Application for admission and prospectus can be had from the office by paying Rs.100/- in cash or sending Rs.100/- through M.O or DD in favour of The Correspondent, Blessings Mat. Hr. Sec School, Keerapakkam, Thirukalukundram, Pin code: 603 109. SCHOOL FEES Fees structure for Boarders and Day-scholars could be collected from the school office. Enquiry regarding fees also could be had from the office staff. All the annual fees, deposits (in case of boarders) cost for text books and note books, transportation charge should be paid on or before 15th May (for old students) or as per information (for new admission) the fees will be accepted by Cash / D.D in favour of The Correspondent, Blessings Matric. Hr. Sec. School, Keerapakkam. Cheques are strictly not accepted. Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Failure to pay the fees at the right time will invite a handsome fine. The fees structure is subject to change as per the decision of the Governing Council. ATTENDANCE

Children are expected to be present on all instructional days. If absence is unavoidable, it must be immediately informed to the Principal/Head Mistress. Continuous absence without information will be treated seriously. 75% of attendance is a must for promotion to the next class, in case of long leave due to ailment, a doctor certificate from a government doctor could be produced to ensure promotion. LEAVE PROCEDURE Children need not bring a special leave form as the school diary provides column for absence and leave record where the parents may fill the necessary details and sign duly before sending it to the Class Teacher, Principal/Head Mistress. PARENT-TEACHER INTERACTION Every School aims at having cordial relationship with parents for the well-being of the students. Blessings Public School goes a step ahead inviting parents to provide suggestions then and there for the progress of the school .The parents are expected to co-operate with the school management by paying the fees regularly and taking care of their child’s progress every day following the school diary carefully. Parents are not supposed to meet the teachers during class hours. EXAMINATION AND PROMOTION Weekly, Monthly, Mid – term and Terminal exams are conducted regularly enabling the children to get thorough knowledge. The performance in the Annual Examination will be considered for promotion. Pupils who have arrears of fees will not be permitted to appear for examination. Progress report is sent home after every mid-term or terminal exam. The parents thus get a good picture of their ward’s performance. LETTERS AND POCKET MONEY

The Children write home every week and parents are also requested to reply them once a week at least. Pocket money or other valuables like cameras, cell phone, walkman and gold ornaments should not be left with the students. Any money found on them will be confiscated. Under no circumstance should money be sent directly to the children. Each student may have a minimum pocket money. FOOD AND BOARDING Food and shelter are the basic requirements of human beings to develop their skills. Blessings Public School provides quality food to ensure sound physical growth. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian balanced diet is provided to the students. Eggs, milk and special diet can be given to the students on request by the parent .The children stay in cosy and comfortable dormitories. One matron, a sister and a teacher are in charge of each dormitory. The school provides cots to every student. Girls have separate dormitory. The children are provided with all basic facilities including resident teachers to guide them individually. WITHDRAWALS Withdrawals are not permitted normally, during an academic year. If however, a student is to be withdrawn during the academic year, the fee for the whole year, should be paid .Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Request for transfer certificates should be submitted in the school office before 30th April every year T.C will be issued to those who have no fee areas and other payments. VISITING HOURS Parents may visit their children once a month on Saturdays and Sundays between 3.pm and 6.p.m in the second weekend of every month. Too frequent visits are discouraged in the interest of children themselves. Parents or relative would be permitted to see the students only if they produce the visiting cards to the receptionist. Any friends or un-authorized person would be permitted to see the students only at the discretion of the Principal. VACATION

The Children may go home only during the vacation, the exact date of which will be notified in advance. After such vacation, the children should return on the notified date and not later. This is very important. The children absent on the reopening day are liable to pay fine as imposed by the management. The school year is organized as follows: I Term - First week of June to first week of September (I term break-one week) II Term - Third week of September to third week of December (II term Break-15 days) III Term - First week of January to second week of April (Summer Vacation 2nd week of April to 1st week of June) SCHOOL UNIFORM BOYS
