Biology chapter (1) Qno1: what is Biology? Ans: the study of living things is called biology. It has two main branches: (1) Zoology: It is the study of animals is called zoology. (2) Botany: It is the study of plants. Branches of biology: (1) Morphology: It is the study of structure and external parts of organisms. (2) Anatomy: It is the study of internal parts of the organisms. Example: heart, lung, etc. (3) Cell biology: It is the study of cell. (4) Histology: It deals with the study of tissues. (5) Physiology: It is the study of functions of different parts of organisms. (6) Taxonomy: It deals with classification and naming of organisms. (7) Genetics: In this branch we study about genes. (8) Embryology: It deals with the study of embryo. Embryo: The stage between Zygote and newly born baby. (9) Ecology: It is the study of relationships between organisms and their environment. (10)Palantology: It is the study of fossils.
