Footsteps, Part 2 Moving Towards Empowerment Political activism, financial responsibility,

personal health and carbon footprints…how are you moving towards empowerment? DC Public Library continues its program series of highlighting the life and legacy of Dr. King, and explores whether we and our leaders are Following in the Footsteps of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Part two of this program series, which began in January, looks at Moving Towards Empowerment. February programs feature lectures with Bill Strickland, a former at-risk student, who changed his life by using his skills as an artist to make social change. C.R. Gibbs will discuss African history and culture. Also, attend programs on starting a home-based business, Printmaking for Teens, a discussion with the Darfur Peace and Development Organization, a Poetry Slam, a blood drive, a Zora Neale Hurston re-enactment, a look at the history of Go-Go, Senior Reflections on Black History,
