Bernie S. Grimm joined the firm’s Washington, D.C., office in December 2007 as a Member in the General Litigation Department. He practices in the White Collar and Complex Criminal Defense group. Prior to joining the firm, he was the principal attorney of The Law Office of Bernard Grimm in Washington, D.C., and served as trial attorney in the District’s Public Defender Service. Bernie has extensive experience in federal and state courts, representing clients in civil and criminal matters. He has handled matters involving money laundering, bribery and visa fraud, and well as personal and premises liability, and has tried over 200 jury trials. A legal commentator for Fox News, Court TV and CNN, Bernie was recognized as one of the Top 100 Lawyers (#21) in the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Area by Washingtonian Magazine in 2002. He also received the R. Kenneth Mundy Award, presented by the District of Columbia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers to the top trial lawyer in the jurisdiction. Admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia, Bernie is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and served as president of the Public Defender Service Alumni Association from 1994-2002. In addition, he participated in the Harvard Law School Trial Advocacy Workshop and has been a guest lecturer for Widener University Law School and the District of Columbia Criminal Practice Institute. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Law Students in Court in Washington.
